Crosscutting approach to urban ecosystems to meet the challenges of sustainable cities
The inclusion of nature in urban projects is a significant lever for providing a more welcoming and comfortable living environment that is beneficial for public health.
Nature in urban areas is first and foremost about regular biodiversity, with its different environments and ecosystems, and the various species that interact with this environment that has been significantly modified by human activity.
There is not just one but several forms of nature in urban areas, including parks, gardens, ditches and rooftop gardens for example. Our work incorporates all these different elements to make urban development greener, more resilient to climate change and positive for public health.
SCE and our Ateliers UP+ urban design agency work with public and private clients to find the right solution for each project, from feasibility studies up to the implementation of green spaces that enhance both biodiversity and well-being for users.
To achieve this, SCE has developed its own specific methods: environmental education and awareness, crosscutting workshops and continuous learning from past experiences that leads to innovative and sustainable technical proposals.
The inclusion of nature in urban areas can be complex. To tackle these challenges effectively, we associate all our expertise to bring you all the solutions you need: environmental assessments, urban studies, design, technical assistance and project management.
