We asked our colleagues to tell us about how they contribute to transforming cities and regions on a daily basis. Read their stories and about their everyday life at SCE.
After having worked in sales and purchasing and having had the chance to experience working environments with a strong emphasis on human and environmental values, I wanted to focus my career on CSR. I joined SCE in 2021. On my arrival, I was surprised to see that the values of SCE, especially CSR, were an everyday feature within the different teams.
My mission: Making CSR more understandable in and outside the company while continuing to develop it. This is a varied position that requires a great deal of cross-cutting work – I can be involved in topics related to carbon footprint and mobility, the environment or issues of inclusion with HR.
One of my greatest challenges: Creating a responsible purchasing department!
My job: Seeking solutions to make farming more sustainable and to lessen its impact on the environment.
My leitmotif: I have always been driven by an interest in biology and plant production. After the theory, I wanted to apply what I’d learned. Working as a consultant for farmers allows me to apply the things that are important to me.
My secret weapon: Organization to ensure that projects are well-managed, and being attentive to stakeholders. We often work on regional approaches involving many stakeholders and it is important to listen to them carefully to achieve consensus.
My role: Helping project managers with their tasks, compiling project bids, admin, invoicing and financial follow-up of project management assignments.
My secret weapon: Meticulousness and good humour to maintain a good atmosphere within the branch.
Having graduated from the Engineering School of the City of Paris and after several years of experience in civil engineering for underground structures, I discovered SCE by chance when looking to move on from Paris for family reasons. I joined a dynamic and dedicated team with a strong focus on environmental protection.
My professional background has allowed me to find my place, integrating technical flood protection tasks with the protection of sensitive environments. I am involved in providing expertise nationwide and I also coordinate SCE teams on topics related to rivers and public policy on the environment.
After a first year discovering the railway sector during my sandwich course, I joined SCE after graduating as an engineer.
What I immediately liked was the diverse range of projects and expertise that you find at the company!
Multi-faceted projects mean that we are learning on a daily basis and finding solutions to effectively coordinate all the different expertise.
I especially appreciate the drive of our company, which is constantly adapting to new urban challenges and to client needs.
My role: Coordinating and ensuring the smooth running of projects, while providing an interface between design engineers and clients.
My secret weapons for this role: Passion... Ever since I was small I have admired great bridge and viaduct constructions and major feats of civil engineering. And good humour – in a cross-cutting field of expertise this is essential in order to coordinate different parties like colleagues and clients, at times when things can be a little stressful. Good humour always helps to oil the cogs.
